Happily, all of our rescues have found their new “furever” homes!

Many of our rescues are placed with
families who have a pre-approved application
on file. If you are interested in adopting a rescue, we encourage you to fill out an application now. Notes will be made to your application and you will be contacted as soon as an Afghan Hound meeting your criteria arrives in rescue.
If you live outside of California, check the Afghan Hound Club of
America rescue site to see who is available for adoption in your area.
Please Note – AHROC does NOT have a kennel facility – all rescues are fostered in the private homes of our volunteers. In addition to families and pets of their own, most of our volunteers have full time careers. We ask that you respect our foster parents’ time by filling out and submitting an adoption application BEFORE phoning about any of the dogs.
Your application will be reviewed and notes will be made to your file and you will be contacted when a dog meeting your criteria arrives in rescue. Appointments to see any of the dogs are set only after an adoption application is on file.
All of our rescues have been evaluated by a veterinarian and all necessary medical treatment has been provided. Each rescue is spayed or neutered and all shots are up to date. Additionally each dog has been groomed & micro-chipped.
If you would like to volunteer your time to help Afghan Hound Rescue – please fill out our volunteer
application .
